About Tara...

Growing up on the east coast just outside of Richmond, Virginia, Tara knew from an early age that she was destined for adventure. Learning to follow her intuition from a young age, she knew the world was her playground, not just confined to her state line.  While she was offered a full scholarship to a Virginia University, she knew she was meant to grow outwardly. Ultimately, a fated phone call from a best friend at the time encouraged her to accept her offer to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in both Retailing Management and Hospitality Management, and a minor in Sport & Entertainment management. Though here, she became much more than a student. She was selected as the first female in 10 years to embody the school's beloved mascot, Cocky, and the rest was history. She fell in love with community & connectivity, using her gift of natural charisma & improv to energize crowds of thousands. Finding herself ready to branch out even further after graduation, Tara moved to Tampa, Florida to pursue a postgraduate-career-starting experience at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Here, she further developed her love of relationship building and the influence of sports to cultivate a career-path rooted in community service. During her time as part of the crew, she very briefly took charge as Captain of the Ship, Captain Fear, which cemented her (according to the "Furrturnity" of professional mascots in Florida) as the first female to ever portray an NFL mascot.  When it was time to set sail towards a new adventure, Tara discovered a new treasure to cherish - working at SOFWERX, non-profit in a partnership intermediary agreement with the United States Special Operations Command. Here she helped tell the story of innovation. As a Public Relations Specialist, she hosted hundreds of tours, enlightening service-members, government officials, and civilians alike to the incredible accomplishments & projects being successfully created from inception to implementation to protect our military's most elite servicemembers. Tara also conducted hundreds of events, bringing the "right people to the right room to solve the right problems."  As fate would have it, her winds blew once more, guiding her to land in San Antonio, TX, where she found herself blooming again in the world of sports & entertainment, landing a role with the San Antonio Spurs. Though she did not jump in any mascot suit this time, Tara found her own lane bringing her community building, communication skills, innovation & creativity to life to fundraise for the official non-profit of the Spurs, Spurs Give. Devastatingly, COVID-19 impacts caused a shift in her life-trajectory once more, which ultimately opened the door to her greatest love yet... Rollerblading. With nothing but time on her hands, Tara threw on a pair of inline skates for the first time in decades, unknowingly reawakening a massive passion in her soul. Documenting her journey being "funemployed," Tara inspired (and continues to this day) thousands of people through virtual community building to keep going, keep believing in hope, and finding the rainbow in the storm. (After all, she is a self proclaimed "Rainbow Chaser" and can sense when a rainbow is on the horizon.) During this time period, she started a now annual community-giving project called "Santa Bladin'," focusing on giving back to families and people experiencing or facing homelessness. Each year, Tara throws on a Santa suit, skates through town with a big red bag, and passes out presents to unsuspecting humans in need, particularly in the Downtown San Antonio & Austin areas. Simultaneously, she hosts a toy drive benefiting SAMMinistries, a non-profit in San Antonio providing resources and care to families in need. From its inception on 2020, Tara has donated hundreds of toys and spread countless moments of joy.   As she continued to glide with optimism through one of the most difficult time periods of her life, an unexpected opportunity found itself her in pathway. Accepting the new challenge, Tara began working as a Digital Marketing Manager for the elite resort in Texas, La Cantera Resort & Spa. She combined many of her previous roles & skills into luxury hospitality: story-telling, selling, copywriting, photography, videography, modeling, event coordination, relationship building, and so much more. After pouring her heart and soul into this role for years, a new opportunity rang.   Answering the call, Tara moved to Austin, TX. Her love of storytelling and creativity opened the door to a new role with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, working at the Downtown Austin location as the Digital Marketing Manager. Within such a short timespan, Tara's creativity shined brightly, earning her nominations for "best social media in the ownership portfolio," "manager of the quarter," and nods to her out-of-the-box thinking and strategizing on global Four Seasons meetings. She even assisted this location in achieving some of their highest-to-date online sales through SEO & content strategy. Tara helped partners of this location achieve global recognition through community programming, built & strengthened their influencer portfolio, live-music entertainment, and many more accomplishments & contributions. Though she experienced resounding success during her tenure, ultimately, Tara knew, just like her soul's calling as a young child, her spirit could not be contained. Tara started a movement on Tara Tuesdays, where she focuses each week on inspiring her audience to focus more intentionally on bettering their mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. She encourages this mindfulness & wellness practice for all days, but especially on Tara Tuesdays. In addition, she's giving onlookers an intimate glimpse at her life, "Behind The Blades," posting weekly vlogs or skating sessions to her YouTube channel. Now, Tara flies freely. Whether she is skating globally, skating marathons, attending skate camps, acting, modeling, helping with brand consultations, offering her marketing expertise, creating & hosting community events, supporting live music in Austin, TX, including her partner, the #1 rising blues guitarist and musician, Robert Parker Jr., or simply enjoying her downtime with her beloved cats, Freddie & Caroline, (The Tater Tot Club - RIP OG member, Kenny), Tara makes magic happen no matter where she lands.
